St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

Hope and Healing Ministry

When St. Stephen’s reopened after COVID, we focused our outreach on creating and distributing our Hope and Healing Bags containing essential personal care items. All of our bags are created in house by our small staff.

More than 6,000 Philadelphians are found living on the street, in cars, abandoned buildings, train/bus stations, and other places not meant for human habitation.  Approximately 8,884 people (including families) accessed shelters in Philadelphia last year and numerous individuals were turned away from shelters due to limited capacity.

What is a Hope and Healing Bag?

A Hope and Healing Bag is a takeaway bag that contains essential personal care items for the harshest living environments
